LexisNexis LAW export sorter – sorting exported files

While working at my job, I also created an Export Sorter. When LAW (document processing software/DB) exported your dataset, it saved to folders LOADFILES, IMAGES, NATIVES, OCR in the main VOLUME folder of the case. For example, let’s assume the case we are currently working on is named “Vanguard Industries.” The client needs us to process the data and make it available in a Relativity DB for review and ease-of-access.

Date Time Overlay

Date/Time Sorter: Tool to create date/time overlay by connecting to LexisNexis LAW Server

In my previous role as a Senior Systems Analyst (mostly helping the eDiscovery team process and load data), I encountered an issue where the date and time exported from LAW did not align with the date and time format utilized in our department-wide Relativity database. First, the date and time fields were their own original fields in the LAW DB. Second, there is a heigharchy of dates that determine the DOCDATE field we need to update in Relativity.
DOCDATE is determined based on whether the document is a parent or attachment, and a heigharchy of the following dates:
